I Blame Coco
Client: Warp Films
Year: 2010

Once again working with director Alex Smith (we’ve done animation for Beta Band and Darkness promos, and now post work on this and the Archie Bronson video this year). This promo was shot using a Red camera at 1000 frames per second, in an empty swimming pool, with the band and models suspended from wires in an empty swimming pool. In discussions with Warp about how best to do the post-production work of wire-removal from the footage we proposed using AfterEffects, rather than the more traditional Flame suite route, as a more flexible and cost and time effective solution.

Copykatz Beware!

Copykatz Beware!
Client: BBC
Year: 2010

Illumina Digital, who we’ve enjoyed a long working relationship with (a lot of BBC Jam work and other online e-learning work over the years) got in touch when they needed to produce four 3 minute long episodes of animation for CBBC at short notice. The mini-series was about a teen-band encountering various obstacles on the path to success and was developed to illustrate the perils of the online world – educating viewers about issues such as filesharing, copyright and plagiarism. We came up with a look and feel, and character style that was suitable for producing a lot of animation quickly, using Flash and AfterEffects together to maximise workflow and ensure that all 4 episodes were ready for broadcast to a high standard in a very tight turnaround.
